Sourdough Starter
Once called "Friendship Bread," sourdough starter was shared amongst friends in days past, and even passed down as family heirlooms! This starter is 7 years old, and has only ever been fed with unbleached, unbromated flour and water purified by Berkey Filters. It is important to use filtered water to hydrate your starter, as chemicals such as fluoride or chlorine may kill your starter or reduce its effectiveness.
Please do not purchase if you have allergies. This product may contain traces of allergens due to shared equipment. We are a cottage business and while we practice proper hygiene, we do not maintain an allergen-free kitchen.
Ingredients: unbleached unbromated flour, filtered water
What you need to get started: a kitchen scale, good quality unbleached unbromated flour (all-purpose or bread flour is fine), filtered water
Each glass jar contains 150 grams of starter.
